This allows Google to check for viruses and malwares beforehand so they can safely and securely be shown in your email automatically when you open them. Instead of hosting images in an external server, Google is re-routing images to its own “secure proxy servers”. Previously, that extra step is used to ensure that users do not get attacked by malwares in email attachments, so what has the internet giant done to ensure that users are still secure? Google has recently updated its Gmail service, removing that annoying step, showing all images automatically. One of the most annoying things about Gmail is definitely that extra step needed to show images from your sender on both mobile and desktop versions of Gmail – click or tap to show images in an email or opt to always show attachments from a particular sender.
